Gaby the Black-headed Caique

No menagerie is complete without a clown....and that title belongs to our little live wire Gaby the black headed caique. It is no accident that most of the pictures I have of him are of a little bird hanging....mostly upside down & actively playing. After a nice misting with the spray bottle, he expends a lot of energy flapping madly hanging onto the rope sides of a window perch banging the branch back & forth against the window. He greets me with happy squawks when I come home....clinging to his cage door bars. He loves people and is an extremely sociable bird. He was three years old this past July.

A bird in the hand is a happy preening bird...cupped & watched with love.

One toe is enough for hanging by when you're a little show-off caique.
